Uncle Roly enjoying the Roman ruins at Wall in Staffordshire.

It has to be said that retirement has not slowed Uncle Roly down. It's certainly true that what he does now is for charity and personal enjoyment but he still attacks the subjects with as much verve as when he was working. He lived for many years in the beautiful city of Lichfield before retiring to Cornwall. One of Uncle Roly's favourite spots was the Roman city of Wall, virtually in the grounds of his old house, the infamous 'Roly Towers' which became famed for its dinner parties.

Gieves and Hawkes. The only place for the man about town.

Uncle Roly has always enjoyed visiting London. Spending so much of his time there when he was with the Royal Family it still holds much enjoyment. Number 1 . Saville Row. Gieves and Hawkes. (His old uniform tailors) being a favourite haunt.

Kasteel de Berckt. Uncle Roly's favourite chill out zone in Holland.

Spending a lot of time in Holland he has fallen in love with Kasteel de Berckt in Limburg. A castle where he is privileged to be allowed to 'chill' by the owners  and his great friend Guus Leideritz, the executive chef. (He also lets Uncle Roly loose in his kitchen). He treasures time with his family and particularly with his boys. Such time is rare and very dear.
